Mayor Bloomberg says he's leaving the investigation up to the CCRB
NEW YORK, NY April 06, 2006 —Comments made by police, as well as their actions during a riot tuesday night in Borough Park are under investigation by the Civilian Complaint Review Board.
REPORTER: 75-year-old Arthur Schick, whose arrest by police for using a cell phone while driving sparked the riot, says an officer used the N-word. In addition, Chief of Department Joseph Esposito, admits to using inappropriate language during the chaos, but says he never used derogatory terms singling out Jewskippot.
Mayor Bloomberg says he's leaving the investigation up to the CCRB.
BLOOMBERG: I've asked the civilian complaint review board to look at allegations of what chief esposito said as well as what the arresting officer used inappropriate language.
